Am I a Good Candidate for Breast Implant Removal and Replacement?
Some women choose to remove and replace their breast implants because they want to change the size, or switch out saline implants for silicone implants. However, there are times when the procedure becomes necessary,as a result of complications with existing implants.
Women with the following concerns are usually good candidates for implant removal and replacement:
- Capsular contracture. This refers to the hardening of the scar tissue around the implant.
- Implant leakage or rupture. This can cause the implant to become deflated.
- Breast sagging or rippling. These conditions often occur as a result of the shifting of the implants.
Candidates for breast implant removal and replacement should also be in good overall health, and over the age of 21.
