Effective Treatment Solutions For Rosacea

Rosacea is a skin condition in which the skin, (usually the skin on the face), becomes red, pimples also develop, and the skin becomes thick. It is more common in women, but men are sometimes affected. The condition is not easy to treat, but solutions for rosacea (click here for more info) include topical and oral antibiotic, as well as light therapy.

Symptoms

Rosacea typically affects areas around the forehead, cheeks and nose, as well as the eyes. People with the disease generally have redness and flushing in these areas, and the eyes can become dry and itchy. In addition, blood vessels may become dilated, and inflammation may occur.

Rosacea is often triggered by sun exposure as well as extreme exercise, emotional stress, and alcohol consumption. Although it cannot be cured, the options below are effective in reducing symptoms.

Treatment

There  are several types of laser treatments available for the treatment of rosacea.  The pulsed dye laser was one of the models first used to treat the condition. Lasers are very effective for treating symptoms such as redness, dilated blood vessels, and the thickening of the skin on the nose and cheeks.

IPL Photofacial

Advanced light therapy treatment is available for rosacea at the Serenity Med Spa in California in the form of intense pulsed light (IPL) photofacials.  IPL is a non-laser light source that can effectively control Rosacea, and improve its symptoms.

Creams and gels are other possible solutions for rosacea. These are applied to the skin to help to reduce inflammation and pimples.
