If you feel uncomfortable with the changes in your body after pregnancy, a mommy makeover can make you look and feel amazing once again. It’s a wonderful way to get back your body after childbirth and regain confidence. But what is included in a mommy makeover.
What is a mommy makeover?
The mommy makeover is a combination of plastic surgery procedures that are done to address the body changes brought about by childbirth and breastfeeding. The procedures are usually performed at the same time, and are customized to satisfy the unique needs of each patient.
What is included in a mommy makeover?
The breasts and abdomen are the primary areas of concern for women after pregnancy, so a mommy makeover typically includes the following:
- Tummy Tuck (abdominoplasty). The abdomen undergoes major changes during pregnancy due to the pressure placed on the abdominal muscles, and the stretching of the skin. A tummy tuck removes excess skin and tightens the underlying abdominal muscles, in order to flatten and firm the midsection.
- Breast augmentation/Breast lift. The breasts often look deflated and ‘stretched out’ after pregnancy and breast feeding. Breast augmentation uses implants to restore the fullness of the breasts. However, if the breasts are also droopy, a breast lift can be performed to make them look perky and more youthful.
- Liposuction. After pregnancy many moms have pockets of fat in various areas that they aren’t able to reduce with diet and exercise. Liposuction can get rid of these unwanted fat bulges and create smoother, sleeker body contours.
