Are you unhappy with the look of your post-baby breasts and tummy? A mommy makeover can make you look and feel like yourself again. But before signing up for mommy makeover surgery it’s important to know what to expect during recovery, so one of the most important questions to ask your plastic surgeon is – What’s the recovery time for a mommy makeover.
What exactly is a mommy makeover?
A mommy makeover refers to a combination of procedures that are done to address the physical changes that often occur as a result of pregnancy. It typically involves a breast lift and/or breast augmentation to correct sagging or deflation of the breasts, and a tummy tuck to eliminate excess skin, and bulging on the abdomen. Mommy makeover surgery is generally done in a single surgical session.
What’s the recovery time for a mommy makeover?
Most women are able to return to work within 2-3 weeks if their job does not involve any physical activity. Some women feel well enough to return to work after one week, but this should be done after consulting with their plastic surgeon.
Patients with small children are generally advised to ask family and friends to assist with their care in the first week after surgery.
In addition, patients are usually given a timeline by their surgeon to let them know when they will be able to resume light activities and strenuous exercise. Adhering to this schedule will ensure the best possible results.
